Srila Bhakti Sudhir Goswami Maharaj
Srila Bhakti Sudhir Goswami Maharaj (born in 1952) is a theologian, essay writer and Acharya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math.
In his youth Maharaj turned onto philosophy – Western and Eastern. His spiritual quest brought him to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness : at the end of 60s he became a disciple of ISKCON’s founder-acharya, Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and dedicated his life to the preaching of Gaudiya Vaishnavism in the Western world and in the Eastern Europe .
After the departure of Srila Swami Maharaja, following his desire, Srila Goswami Maharaj, searching for further spiritual guidance, approached the beloved spiritual brother and siksa guru of Srila Prabhupada, the founder of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaja. Impressed by his spiritual wisdom and holy character, Maharaj took shelter at the lotus feet of Srila Guru Maharaj, and with the help of other leading followers of Srila Swami Maharaj, started to preach Srila Sridhara Maharaj’ s conception in the English-speaking world.
Cooperating with Sripad Bhakti Vidhan Mahayogi Maharaj (Michael Dolan), and with the help of other devotees, Maharaj published many books of Srila Sridhar Maharaj and established several centers in USA.
After Srila Sridhar Maharaj’ departure, Srila Goswami Maharaj accepted the guidance of his successor, His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Sundar Gosvinda Dev-Goswami Maharaja.
Since 2000, Maharaj has been preaching in Russia and Ukraine and throughout the world, acting as the initiating and instructing spiritual master of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math.
Playing the role of a "theologian-intellectual", he gives lectures and continues to produce Math’s literature.
