Sripad Bhakti Vigraha Nyasi Maharaj
Sripad Bhakti Vigraha Nyasi Maharaj joined Hare Krishna movement in 1969 when he received spiritual initiation from Srila A. Ch. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhudapa and spiritual name Sri Govinda Das. He was involved in the activities of ISKCON in the period from 1970 to 1985: he managed ashrams, organized the project of free membership in ISKCON, run the process of publishing of the magazine “Back to Godhead”. In 1983, he met the disciples of Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Maharaj and met Sripad Goswami Maharaj. In 1984, Sri Govinda Prabhu received Gayatri Mantra from Srila Sridhar Maharaj. In the period from 1990 to 1997, he got academic education and bachelor’s degree of Arts (the University of Chicago), master’s degree of theological sciences (Harvard University) and became candidate for Doctor of Philosophy (the University of California).
In October of 1998, Sri Govinda Prabhu got the instructions from Srila Govinda Maharaj and moved to the center of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math in London. In March of 2005 he received sannyasi initiation from Srila Govinda Maharaj and new name — Bhakti Vigraha Nyasi Maharaj.
